Baroness Northover was appointed to the role of Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for International Development on 4 November 2014.

She was previously Lead Government Spokesperson in the House of Lords for DFID from September 2011 to November 2014, lead Government Spokesperson for Women and Equalities (2012-14), and government whip and spokesperson for Justice (2010-12), Law Officers (2010-11), DFID (2010-11), DCMS (2012-13), Defra (2012-14) , Health (2010-2013) , Women and Equalities (2010-12), Education (2013-14).

She is a Liberal Democrat member of the House of Lords.
